IMPORTANT UPDATE

Dear Santa Susana Baseball Families, 

 We are sad to inform you that the Spring 2020 season is officially canceled. We were all holding out hope that things would improve, and we would be able to open back up and get the kids playing. Unfortunately, due to the Safe at Home order issued by the State, County and City, and being that we lease our park from RSRPD (Simi Valley Parks & Rec) we cannot hold any type of full team play now.

 All the baseball/softball leagues in Simi Valley have been in constant contact with each other trying to figure out the best way to resume games for our players. We all concluded that resuming the spring season was not possible.

 We are, however, looking forward to summer and the upcoming fall season. If a summer session is possible, whether its practices, scrimmages, or camps we will send out notifications and let everyone know. All Spring Season players will be welcomed to play/participate.

 Since many of our families were not able to work their snack bar hours and earn their $100 back, we will be issuing that money back. If you can donate your deposit to SSBB it would be greatly appreciated. Whatever your option is, please let us know by June 5th by replying to this email. In your email please include Your Name, Player’s Name, Division and Team Name, and we will process the refunds as quickly as possible, but it may take up to 30 days to mail the refund back.

 For every one that purchased Dodger Day tickets, we already have your name and we will send out refunds for that as well.

Spring 20 season players registering for the fall season in September, we will be applying a credit on the account. Fall registration will be opening in July and all payments will be deferred until we are certain it is safe to play.

Santa Susana Baseball is a non-profit organization ran solely by volunteers. We work from season to season, so the registration fees we collect before a season begins, get immediately turned around and applied to the upcoming season. Fees we need to cover are insurance, lease payments and Pony charter registration, field upkeep (bases, fencing, backstop padding, bullpens, etc.), utility bills (electricity, water, trash), field maintenance supplies and continuous equipment maintenance (clay brick, paint, lawnmowers) player equipment (baseballs, coach gear, player catching gear), team uniforms, and umpire fees. We do have the snack bar that helps to offset some expenses throughout the season.

Our thoughts have been with our SSBB players and their families this entire time. We hope everyone has been able to stay safe and healthy.
